Magic Carpet or Red Carpet?
Ready to feel BIG? Disney's Hollywood Studios (formally Disney's MGM Studios) is when you get to experience all of the backstage fun! This whole park was designed so guests feel bigger! All of the buildings were scaled to make guests feel like a "big" Hollywood star walking down boulevards lit up with shops and the smell of fame in the air.
Hollywood Studios is home to Rockin' Rollercoaster, the BEST roller coaster of all the Disney Parks! Also check out Disney's Hollywood Tower, or better known as The Tower of Terror! Each of these attractions come with a storyline for guests to feel more immersed in the Hollywood atmosphere.
Aerosmith is the main band of Rockin' Rollercoaster! You are a VIP guest and you're LATE! Don't worry the band got you covered. Their agent has a limo ready to race you through Hollywood to make it to the concert! The line to this attraction fills up really quickly and FPs go just as quick! If you and your party don't want to wait for a long time out in the sun, hop into the single riders line! The wait might not be as short, but it will be in the air conditioning!
This rollercoaster goes from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds. I remember when I first went on it I felt like my face was hit against a wall. I was scared to lose my glasses. I almost lost my cellphone on this attraction. When I was getting out of the ride my cellphone fell out of my pocket and got to ride the rollercoaster one more time than I did! Luckily someone turned it in to a cast member and I got it (the magic of Disney)!
The Tower of Terror has many haunted stories that are associated with it, but Disney has a film that give the real story behind this haunted hotel. At the attraction you will encounter 4 characters. A blond little girl, her governess, a beautiful young woman, and a handsome young man. All 4 of these characters died a mysterious death on Halloween, when their elevator shaft was struck by lightning; but, their bodies were never found.
If you liked the Haunted Mansion at MK you'll absolutely adore Tower of Terror, at least in themes. Tower of Terror is a thriller ride and an adrenaline rush. You get to experience a drop from 13 stories (if you're lucky) and no ride is identical! Disney is all about making your experience optimal. So you can go on Tower of Terror as many times as you want, but the likelihood you would have the exact same drop sequence is very low! Also fun fact: the tower of Terror is only 199 ft tall! If the tower was 200 ft tall, Disney would have to put a rod at the top of the tower to alert airplanes of it's location.
Hollywood Studios is more than just these thrill rides! This is the park that is home to many theatrical productions! Be sure "be [their] guest" at Disney's Beauty and the Beast show! Also for those who stay late at the park don't miss Disney's Fantasmic! In this show Mickey defeats all of the villains that want to destroy all the good in the world!
